Scouts Year End Party (Dec 17th)

This will be our last regular meeting for 2014 before we break for the holidays.  Regular meetings will begin again on January 7, 2015 at the Parkallen School.  We will be meeting at the Parkallen School on December 17th starting at 6:30 PM.  We will be having an end of the 2014 year party, handing out badges, giving Scouts their "Scout Truck" kits to work on over the holiday break.

Scout Skate 2014 (Dec 10th)

We will be meeting at the George S. Hughes Arena at 10525-72 Ave. we will be there for public skate from 6:30 to 7:30. To maximize the skate time feel free to show up before 6:30 to put your skates on.

Scout Toboggan - Dec 3rd

Our next two meetings will be away from the Parkallen School and our last meeting before the holiday break will be on December 17th at the Parkallen School.

This week we will be going tobogganing at the Alfred H. Savage Centre (13204 Fox Drive) starting at 6:30 PM.  Please dress for the weather and bring on the adventure.

Wildlife Rehabilitation Society (Nov 26)

Scouts will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week and we will have special guest from the Wildlife Rehabilitation Society visiting us.

Scout Swim 2014 (Oct 22nd)

Scouts will be going for a swim this week at the Commonwealth Recreation Centre Pool (11000 Stadium Road, attached to the Commonwealth Stadium, home of the Edmonton Eskimos!!!!) starting at 6:30 PM. Please dress warm and bring change for the locker rental.

Scouts Annual Nature Walk (Oct 15th)

Scouts will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week to take part in our annual Fall Nature Walk through the Parkallen Neighbourhood. We will be delivering flyers for our upcoming Bottle Drive / Food Bank Drive taking place on October 18th. Please dress in uniform and dress for the weather.

What it means to be a Scout - Oct 8th



Scouts were given the task last week to review the Scout Law, Promise and Motto.  This week will be going over what each means.

Our Scouts have started to raise money for our service project.  All money raised will be donated to the Eliminate Project to rid the world of Maternal Neonatal Tetanus.  Every $2 raised saves a mother and her future children from tetanus.  Please check out the Eliminate Project at http://sites.kiwanis.org/Kiwanis/en/theELIMINATEproject/home.aspx for more information.

Scouts Eliminating Tetanus with Kiwanis (Oct 1st)

Scouts will be meeting with at the Parkallen School Gym this week.

Scouts will be launching their service project this week which is the EliMiNaTe Project to help rid the world of Maternal Neonatal Tetanus. This is an international project between Kiwanis International and UNICEF. Scouts will be raising awareness and funds to help eliminate this disease around the world.

Scouts are reminded to bring their Scout Books with them to this week's meeting.

Scouts Service Project 2014 - Sep 24

Scouts will be meeting at the Parkallen School this week.  Last week we picked a service project called the Eliminate Project that the Kiwanis International and UNICEF to eliminate Maternal Neonatal Tetanus.  This week the Scouts will be setting our patrol and Troop goals.  We will also be planning our camps and activities for the 2014 year.

Patrol vs. Patrol Corn Maze Challenge - Sep 17th

The Scouts will be taking on a challenge from the Vents, Cubs and Beavers on who has better skills at navigating.  Best place to do this challenge is to enter the Corn Maze.  Out two Scout Patrols will be competing against each other as well.  Please arrive at 6:20 pm at the Edmonton Corn Maze and dress for the weather and bring a flashlight.

Scout Swim-Up 2014 (April 30th)

We will be meeting at Emily Murphy Park (11904 Emily Murphy Park Road NW) at the sheltered Picnic Site (on your left when you enter the park). We will be holding our Swim Up Ceremony and Volunteer Appreciation that evening. There will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family. The fun starts at 6:30 PM.

Scouts Tobogganing - (Mar 5)

This week Scouts will be meeting at the Mill Wood Park for a night of tobogganing. The Toboggan hill is located next the park parking lot on 66 Street North of 23rd Avenue across the Street from Mill Woods Town Centre Mall. Please dress for the weather, bring your favourite toboggan and for safety please bring a helmet. We will be meeting at the hill starting at 6:30 PM.

Scouts Ice On Whyte - (Jan 29th)


Scouts will be meeting at the Ice on Whyte Festival located at End of Steel Park: Gateway Blvd (103 Street) and Tommy Banks Way, Edmonton, Alberta.  Parents and siblings are welcomed to attend.

Knife Safety Test - (Jan 22)

Scouts have spent the last two weeks learning about knives, sharpening knives, how to take of a knife, how to use a knife safely and most importantly how to pass someone a knife safely. This week the Scouts get to test their knowledge and earn the very exclusive Knife Safety Permit. We will be meeting and testing at the Parkallen School.
