Swim Up April 27th

This meeting is the official last meeting for the Beavers and Cubs for the 2010-2011 Scout year. Scouts will be continuing into June. We will be meeting at Emily Murphy Park (11904 Emily Murphy Park Road NW) at the sheltered Picnic Site (on your left when you enter the park). We will be holding our Swim Up Ceremony and Volunteer Appreciation that evening. There will be plenty of food and fun for the whole family. The fun starts at 6:30 PM.

Meeting April 20th

As our Beavers and Cubs programs are wrapping up for the 2010/2011 Scouting Year at the end of April we will be having a games night. We will be meeting at the Parkallen School Gym onApril 20th at 6:30 PM.

Our program will continue into May with the Fort Edmonton Camp on May 6-8, Canoe Trip on the May long weekend and finally with Spring Thaw Camp in the beginning of June.

Fort Edmonton Camp 2010

Fort Edmonton Camp is a fun and exciting camp for Scouts and 3rd year Cubs. The camp is located in the Fort Edmonton Park in the Edmonton River Valley. The kids camp around the park outside the main fort. First night is to set up camp and the cooking area, second day is opening and activities such as Jamboree on The Trail, Archery, woggle making, obstacle course, leather stamping, lashing catapults and gold panning. In the evening there was Scout Truck Racing, Badge Trading (in the main are of the fort) and evening camp fire. Below are some pictures:

Pictures from Horse Camp 2010

Horse Camp is a six day camp located at humming bird creek near Ram Falls, Alberta every two years. The kids spend the first day setting up camp and learn how to take care and saddle their horses that they will spend three full days and two half days riding riding. The chores are split between the different groups and everyone makes one breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You get to ride over a mountain, see falls and might even see some wild life. A big thank you to all the parents and scouts who came out to the Bottle Drive & Edmonton Food Bank Drive. This week we are investing our new members into our Troop. We also have a special guest from the Canadian Armed Forces to provide a demonstration about Canada's Military and its role in our modern world. See you on Wednesday.

Bottle Drive Flyer Drop April 6th

Scouts will be meeting at the Parkallen Elementary School this week. Our goal is to drop off as many bottle drive & food bank flyers in the Parkallen Community as possible. Please dress for the weather.
